Family Day was Sunday after church! We have been passing out several Family Day flyers around the neighborhood, at the local schools, and other places in the community. The morning was filled with wonderful singing, great fellowship, and several carnival games when the events started. Here are pictures of some of the activities that we organized.
Above: This picture was not taken on Family Day but a few nights before. These guys did an awesome job cookin' on the grill!
Katy, Madison, and Chloe impressed us all with their mad face paintin' skills!
Tug-of-War with all the girls. They guys did it, too.
Kinda hard to tell, but this is an egg race.
Egg toss! Emily and I were partners. We didn't win, but it was still fun. Several people got egg all over them... :)
The rest of our Sunday was filled with ferry rides, walking on Manly Beach, taking pictures of us playing in the water, walking for forever and finally eating dinner at Harry’s Meat Pie stand.
One view of Manly Beach.
Me, Marcus, and Salomon getting are feet wet!
The boys about to throw me in the water! Not really, but the acted like they were...
Walking along the beach.
Madison, Katy, and Emily on the ferry!
Sunset picture of the bridge.
The best picture I could get of the Opera house as we were floating by.
MEAT PIE!!! Without Mashy peas!
This picture is for you, Clay! :)
This is the best picture I could get with my dinky camera. The Opera house is on the left with the bridge in the background.
The whole group, minus Kent! :)
The boys really excited about the Mexican food.
What a wonderful thing to see! :)
This dessert was so good!
Bondi Beach!
Nothing better than seeing this in Australia!
I hope everyone has a great day today! I am learning so much here and I can't believe that in just a few days we will be leaving Macquarie and heading to Campbelltown. I realized today that I haven't told you about my host family, Peter, Claire and their children Laura and Jaron. I will post more about them in the next day or two. Tomorrow the group is cooking for the youth. Em and I will be making the desserts (duh) with Claire, our host mom. Please continue praying for all of us here in Sydney. Our group is having the best time, getting closer each day and helping each other grow in Christ. We wouldn't be here without your support and prayers. I can't thank you enough for all your help. I'm off to bed! Goodnight from Australia!
Amy Michele
